Aluminum hydroxide, a white powder, serves as both a flame retardant and filler. In resin solid surface applications, it exhibits characteristics such as white crystalline structure, non-toxicity, tastelessness, excellent flowability, low oil absorption, minimal iron content, well-defined particle morphology, uniform particle size distribution, low impurity levels, robust stability, high whiteness, and superior dispersibility.
When incorporated into composite materials, aluminum hydroxide presents itself as a micro-powder with exceptional whiteness, ensuring minimal secondary pollution, smoke suppression, efficient filling, and anti-static properties. With an initial decomposition temperature around 205¡ãC, aluminum hydroxide flame retardant releases copious amounts of water vapor upon heating. This water vapor effectively absorbs heat and dilutes the concentration of combustible gases emitted by the polymer. Moreover, it establishes a non-combustible barrier between the heat source and the matrix material, thus achieving flame retardancy. Furthermore, as the gas released is predominantly water vapor, it serves as an effective smoke suppressant without corroding metals.
